Leave Sheffield a legacy of faith
Find out more about how leaving a gift in your will can help transform Sheffield for generations to come.
When you write your will, you choose the final chapter in your life story.
Shape the faith of Sheffield’s for future generations by including a gift to Arise Sheffield in your Will.
It’s a simple - yet powerful - way to make a lasting difference: a statement of your values and your vision for the future of Sheffield.
How do I leave a gift to Arise Sheffield in my Will?
To get you started, Citizens Advice has a useful article about how to write a Will, or make additions to an existing one, and Sheffield solicitors firm Irwin Mitchell has a helpful guide to leaving money to charity in your Will.
If you already have a Will and would like to include Arise Sheffield in your list of beneficiaries, you will need to either add a codicil, or write a new Will. It’s a good idea to discuss your wishes with your solicitor to decide which option will work best for you.
To ensure that it’s clear which charity you want to support, please include our charity registration number: 1115404. This is the number for Together for Sheffield, which is the multi-denominational Christian charity that powers the Arise Sheffield movement.
Giving FAQ
Q: What is Together for Sheffield?
Together for Sheffield is a multi-denominational Christian charity passionate about giving every person in Sheffield the opportunity to know and experience the love of Jesus.
Our journey began over a decade ago under the name Sheffield Crosslinks, and in 2019 we became Together for Sheffield. Since then, we have been working with church leaders and their communities to coordinate citywide prayer, service, and mission.
We empower believers in Sheffield to be salt and light in our city by hosting monthly Sheffield Leaders in Prayer meetings, coordinating the Arise Sheffield prayer and mission movement, and leading the Ascend young adult employment programme.
Q: What is Arise Sheffield, and how did it start?
Out of Sheffield Leaders in Prayer came a vision to invite every believer to prayer-walk their local areas, uniting in a citywide month of prayer for Sheffield. This vision has grown into Arise Sheffield, a movement that connects churches, emboldens believers, and develops disciples through regular prayer and mission events. Over 1700 believers from more than 170 churches across Sheffield have already joined this community.
Q: How has Arise impacted believers in Sheffield?
Arise Sheffield has had a profound impact on the lives of those who have participated in its events. In fact, 34% of Arise:March participants reported that they have grown in their relationship with God and feel that their faith is strengthened. 65% feel more connected with their local area, 24% are more confident in sharing their faith with others, and 16% are more confident in offering prayer for others.
Q: Why do you need believers to include Arise in their Wills?
We have been fortunate enough to receive support from a small number of generous local believers to get Arise off the ground, but in order to keep on transforming Sheffield, we need your help. Leaving a gift in your Will is a powerful way to secure the future of citywide prayer and mission in Sheffield, and means that we can keep on rising up to share the Good News for generations to come.
